CHENNAI: It appears that important pilgrim centers in Incredible India are becoming places of crime and the criminals are not outsiders but the supposedly protector of Dharma "Priest".

Another shameful act by an Indian priest has come to limelight where according to police the priest  allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted at least 30 women Kancheepuram, About 75km from Chennai.

The 35-year-old Devanathan "priest", allegedly played out his ‘unholy’ acts in the sanctum sanctorum of the matchiswarar temple.

Police picked up the priest after they got hold of a CD showing his sexual exploits within the temple’s precincts. Copies of the CD had apparently sold like hot cakes in the town famous for its ‘kancheevaram’ silks.

Many women are now accusing the priest of rape. What’s made the incident sensational are its voyeuristic and  exhibitionistic aspects which seem out of place in a small town known for its orthodox traditions.

According to one victim priest had drugged her before raping her inside the temple. She alleged that the priest had blackmailed her by recording footage of their sexual act on his mobile phone, and forced her to have sex with him on several occasions later.

Priest also threaten to tell her husband about the relation if she failed to ‘co-operate’. The priest used to visit her house requesting for milk to do a puja, as a way of communicating his desire to meet her at the temple.
Incredible India: It's not only the uneducated people but also the educated students trying to damage the image of India  by attempting to rape foreign tourists in India.

Now a 20 years old engineering student has been arrested for attempting to rape an Australian woman holidaying
at a beach resort in the coastal district of Uttara Kannada.

The 28 year old Australian tourist husband was not around when a Indian engineering  student, Sharan Gouda,
attempted to rape her on at a beach cottage in Gokarna.

The woman raised an alarm and staff at the cottage caught Sharan and handed him over to police.

Sharan Gouda, the engineering student is studying in an engineering college in Bangalore.

These cases only highlight the rising dangers for tourist in India.

Not many people are aware of the fact that in India Rape is the fasted growing crime and is a big danger to the whole country values and image.

If there are no strict laws from the Indian government, perhaps not only the image of Incredible India will be damaged but also its tourism industry would be badly suffered.
Not only the general public but even monks are also not behind in outraging the modesty of women in Asian countries. A Buddhist monk has been arrested for allegedly raping a British tourist in Cambodia. The 39-year-old British women was raped in Battambang province in the north west of Cambodia.

The Buddhist monk raped her when he was guiding the British woman to see caves on the top of Phnom Sam Pov mountains and later he allegedly confessed to the crime.

Nowadays Buddhist monks in Cambodia like priest in touristic places in India are frequently accused of sexual assaults. In a similar incident in January a monk was arrested and defrocked for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old French girl at the famous Angkor ruins.

There is a big problem of fake monks and gurus who deceive the public into giving alms or disguise themselves as holy men.

Many young Cambodians and Indians become monks and gurus without necessarily devoting their lives to serve the humanity.

KANNUR: Another disgraceful incident of molestation in case of foreign tourist has occurred in incredible India. This time a Spanish tourist was molested near Payyambalam Beach in Kannur Kerala.

The woman was walking on a road leading to the beach when the accused N S Jayakumar (42), riding a motorbike, allegedly accosted her and molested her. This incident highlight the plight of foreign tourist in India.

However woman tourist told police that she was not willing to register a complaint. She also said the incident was the most 'bitter experience' after coming to India as a tourist. She later left the place in an autorickshaw.
According to police the accused working as a clerk with the Defence Security Corps in Kannur, was allegedly suffering from mental disorder some police cases were already pending against him.

Police registered a case against Jayakumar under IPC section 509 (assaulting a woman's modesty) and produced him before a local court which granted him bail on personal surety.

Lenient and cumbersome law process in India is one of the main reason that people are not afraid of doing crime in India and tourist face nightmare.

CHANDIGARH:  A case of attempt to rape, abduction and molestation has been registered against six youths in reference with this incident.

Six youths had allegedly abducted and raped the German tourist from the parking lot of a hotel in Chandigarh's just a day after the Union Territory administration launched the tourism police.

The victim had bite marks on her body. In her complaint to the police she alleged that the youths had beaten her up. Her clothes were also torn. Her medical examination confirmed that she had been raped.

The victim told the police that she had gone to the hotel for a party and had some drinks there. Around 2.20 am, she stepped out for a smoke. She found a group of youths standing by a Scorpio. She got into a conversation with them and agreed to take a ride with them. But she was forcibly taken away.

She later told the police that the youths kept driving for some hours before taking her to a room, where they tried to rape her. When she resisted their attempts, one of the youths thrashed her and tore her clothes.

The German said she had come to the city on September 23 to attend the wedding of some of her Indian friends.

A Ukrainian tourist was killed and three others injured in India when a bus

hit him at the departure terminal at IGI international airport at Delhi.

The passengers were collecting their luggage from the baggage hold compartment of a coach when a bus carrying the crew of an international airline hit them from behind. Unfortunately the Ukranian tourist, Mykhailo Bershadsky, died almost immediately while three others were injured.

Little has been done to ease commuters’ difficulties in negotiating traffic at the airport in Delhi.  According to the witnesses, the driver of the private bus was unable to brake on time and hit the passengers standing beside the coach.

The driver was not drunk and later he was arrested and a case of causing death by negligent and rash driving was registered against him.

JODHPUR: Another shameful incident happened in Incredible India. This time a 47-year-old German tourist was abducted, raped and robbed of her belongings by an autorickshaw driver and his associate.

The German tourist checked into a hotel close to the old city. She went out for dinner to a five-star hotel and while returning hired the auto-rickshaw.

The auto-rickshaw driver, Shankar, had his friend Rakesh instead of dropping her at the hotel, took the woman to Kharda village on the outskirts of the city and on the banks of a dry Jojri, raped her.

After sometime having heard the scream some villagers reached the spot and as a result, the two men fled in the autorickshaw.

The villagers took the terrified woman to the Police station where she narrated her ordeal.

Later India police arrested the accused however seemingly the very low rate of rape conviction In India, as usual the accused would be let of the Indian police in the future and the accused will become more and more bolder and this is the reason why the rape is the fastest growing crime in India.

Word of caution for tourist while travelling in India: When you hire a taxi or autorickshaw, insist on not to have any extra associate with the driver. If they give you any excuse you always can hire another one.
A 15-year-old British girl was found dead on Anjuna beach in Goa on 18th February 2008. Her family is claiming she was raped and murdered and the autopsy report confirms this.

But surprisingly the Goa police, are maintaining it that it was a case of drowning despite all the evidence.

The incident is again exposing the usual attack which are happening on foreign tourist in India.

According to the autopsy report five large bruises on her shins, head and forearm occurred before she died.
Reports also suggest she also had sexual intercourse. According to british family Scarlet was raped and suffocated on the beach however Goa police is behaving
suspiciously and informed the british family that Scarlet had drowned and that there were no marks on her body.

It seems that the Goa police is not protecting tourists rather hiding the facts which will only hurts tourism industry in the long run and earn a bad name for India.

In an another embarrassing moment for Indian government, two inebriated youth molested a foreigner inside the museum of Gandhi (regarded as father of nation) Ashram in india but "interestingly" no complaint was lodged as it would have required the police to enter the ashram which, according to officials, would have ‘‘affected the sanctity'' of
 the place.

The youth allegedly assaulted the woman when she, along with her husband and a local guide, was viewing the photographs depicting India's freedom struggle.

The two men grabbed the woman and tried to forcibly kiss her. One of the youth managed to escape, but the ashram staff managed to catch hold of the other. The youth damaged a couple of Mahatma Gandhi's mounted photographs.

The staffers of gandhi ashram were also instructed to remain tight lipped about the incident rather than  highlighting the
issue and tightning the security as molestation cases against foreigners are keep on rising in India.
Incidents of molesting tourist in India are showing no sign of stoppage. Now an Indian army personnel was arrested for allegedly molesting an Australian tourist on Jaisalmer-Jodhpur Express train.

Mr Attar Singh was apprehended by the Government Railway Police at Jodhpur on charges of molesting the 26-year-old tourist when she had gone to use the toilet at midnight in the third AC compartment. Army personnel Mr Singh also gone to the toilet at the same time and stopped her in the passage between the two toilets and molested her. However, luckily at that time train attendent was present which save the tourist from further torture.

The attendant witnessed the incident and informed the conductor, who summoned the guard on duty. Guard handed army personnel to the Railway Police.

However the worrying point is these kind of incidents are constantly increasing in India and Indian travel industry is in serious danger unless some serious measure are taken up by Indian government to protect the tourist.
